Until I See you on the Other Side

 By J.C. Hoskins

Goodbye my friend, Goodbye. How do we say goodbye.

To a lifetime of memories, in the twinkling of an eye.

I will treasure those memories when I think of you.

And all the cherished moments of times we knew.

Your heart so big, your caring smile.

I’m glad I knew you, if only for a while.

Sometimes I wish we had more time that we had spent together.

Someday I know we will have that time, when we journey to forever.

I wave to you from the shore to the ship, as it sets its sails away.

As we all must sail that ship my friend I’ll see you again someday.

As your ship sets sail and journeys off to another distant shore.

As I wave goodbye to you, others await to see you once more.

Others who had helped prepare a place and journeyed down this road.

Will meet with you with loving arms and welcome you back home.

And in the sky I see a cloud that seems to catch my eye.

It waves to me as if to say  “Goodbye my Friend Goodbye.”
